BATTLE OF THE BISMARCK SEA

This annual event is always held on the first Thursday of March, being the anniversary of the closing day of the battle. The service is attended by Senior members of the RAAF, USAF, surviving war veterans of 30Sqn and 100Sqn, their families and descendants, members of the respective associations, students of Richmond High School and supporting teachers and importantly current serving military personnel of the respected RAAF squadrons.
The Service is held at 10am in the Chapel at Richmond Air Base, Richmond NSW and is followed by lunch in the Officers Mess. Parking is RAAF assembly car park near the Pass Office. Participants are taken by RAAF transport onto the Base to the commemorative hall. It is advisable to be parked by around 9.30am, as the Chapel Service will commence at 10.00am sharp.
Please Note, an attendance this event requires submitting a list of attendees to Base Security in the lead up to the event. Please RSVP Yvonne Holt if you wish to attend. You can do so by clicking on 'contact us' on the left side menu of website.
