A19-4 (T4923) was a MK.1c Beaufighter built by the Fairy Aviation Co. Stockport UK received by the RAAF on 20 April 1942. It arrived at 30 Squadron on 28 June 1942 it was coded “D” and on 22 November 1942 it arrived at 15 RSU. It was received by 5 OTU on 9 May 1944 and on 8 November 1944 when returning from a cross country flight at 0040hrs it overshot Williamstown in turbulant conditions with poor visibility, it crashed into the sea and a fuel tank was washed up onto a beach.
