+++ Sergeant Donald C. Kirkwood (Navigator/Observer) of Smithfield NSW and Sergeant Colin E. Wein (Pilot) of Gayndah, Qld were the crew of A19-141. They were taken prisoner after their Beaufighter was shot down over the north coast of New Britain near Cape Koas just before Christmas 1943. They were interrogated then later taken to join other Allied prisoners in Rabaul on the east coast of New Britian. Both were executed in March the following year near Rabaul.+++
