Description
Was born on 27 May 1921 in Longreach QLD he enlisted in the RAAF on 7 December 1941 in Brisbane QLD. He commenced training with No 7 Beaufighter Course on 9 May 1943 and completed the course on 24 July 1943. He was a pilot and arrived in 30 Squadron on 27 July 1943 and flew 26 sorties the initial 7 with Cain J.J. as navigator (he was killed 19 Sep 1943 in A19-133) then 19 sorties with Carroll J.W. acting as his navigator. During their time together Albrecht & Carroll flew the following aircraft A19-141, A19-157, A19-134, A19-120, A19-166 & A19-146. He left 30 Squadron on 10 May 1944 After the war he continued to fly Beaufighters with Target Towing and Special Duties and later he was the last commanding officer of 30 Target Towing Squadron from 14 November 1955 until the squadron disbanded on 21 March 1956.
