Was born on 20 December 1920 in Williamstown VIC, he enlisted in the RAAF on 27 March 1941 in Sydney NSW. He commenced training with No 1 Beaufighter Course on 2 November 1942 and completed the course on 19 December 1942. He was a Sergeant and navigator, he probably arrived at 30 Squadron in December 1942 and flew 15 sorties with pilot Flight Sergeant J A Drummond. He left 30 Squadron on 1 July 1943. He commenced training with No 18 Beaufighter Course 23 April 1944 and completed the course in June 1944. He returned again for a second tour as a Pilot Officer on 5 June 1944 and flew 26 sorties with Pilot Officer J A Drummond. He probably left 30 Squadron in January 1945 was discharged from the RAAF on 1 July 1947 with the rank of Flying Officer whilst serving at 2 Aircraft Depot.
