Was born in Albury NSW on 29 September 1921 he enlisted in the RAAF in Melbourne on 26 July 1940. He commenced training with No 3 Beaufighter Course on 12 January 1943 and completed the course on 8 March 1943. He was later posted to 30 Squadron arriving on 26 March 1943. He was a Sergeant and this was sortie No. 16. He was acting as navigator for Flight Lieutenant Eddison when their aircraft A19-24 crashed when hit by AA fire over Lae on 27 May 1943.
